How screening actually works.
Reference pages, not brochures. Each one is written to be correct whether or not you ever buy anything from us, and each one says where the approach fails.
AI CV screening
What is AI CV screening?
AI CV screening is the use of a language model to read every application for a role and rank it against that role's stated requirements. Unlike keyword search, it reads the CV as prose — so "led the migration off Oracle" can count as database experience even though the word never appears in a skills list.
Read itScreening rubrics
What is a screening rubric?
A screening rubric is the written list of what a role actually requires, with each requirement marked as essential or desirable and given a weight. It is written before any applications are read.
Read itCandidate matching
What is candidate matching?
Candidate matching runs a new role against the candidates already in your database, rather than starting from a fresh advert. It is sometimes called reverse matching, because the search runs the opposite way round to screening: one role against many people, instead of many people against one role..

What is an audit trail in hiring?
A hiring audit trail is the contemporaneous record of every decision in a selection process: what was decided, who decided it, what evidence it rested on, and when. "Contemporaneous" is the load-bearing word — a record written at the time is evidence, and one assembled afterwards is an account..
Read itWeighing it up
Against what you do now.
Four comparisons, each of which opens by saying where the other option is better. If that section could be deleted without changing the argument, it was written dishonestly.
AI screening vs reading every CV yourself
The default, and for a small pile still the best option. The question is where the line sits.
AI screening vs ATS keyword search
Your ATS already searches CVs. The difference is that it searches for strings, and a CV is prose.
Purpose-built screening vs pasting CVs into a chatbot
It works. That is the awkward part — it works well enough that a lot of desks are quietly doing it, and the reasons not to are not about output quality.
In-house AI screening vs an outsourced screening team
Both remove the reading from your consultants. The difference is turnaround, and where the judgement ends up living.
